heavenly bath oil recipes
I haven't taken a bath in probably 8 years. I consider myself a germaphobe and the idea of sitting in your own dirt just grosses me out. But, I was reading Jeanne Rose's Herbal Body Book a few weeks back and she has a whole section on bath oils. They sounded wonderful with names like Mediterranean Bath Oil and The Bulgarian Rose Bath. I was feeling a little stressed with school and decided to give one a try. I loved it! It brought back memories from my childhood of taking hot baths. I lit a candle, dropped some oils in the tub and relaxed with a book. I didn't even get grossed out, just took a shower afterwards.
Above there is an image of fresh sprigs of eucalyptus hanging from the showerhead. I read that when steam comes up from a shower or bath, the smell is amazing. I will need to try this soon! I also read on Pinterest: "Once a week for 20 minutes, sit in a hot bath that contains a handful of Epsom salts, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, and a half cup of baking soda. This combo draws out toxins, lowers stress-related hormones, and balances your pH levels. ~ Dr. Mark Hyman, M.D". This is something else I want to try! A hot bath with this combination and then a cool shower would be wonderful I think.
