namaste
At the end of my
yoga practice, everyone in the class puts their hands together at the heart
chakra, close their eyes, and bow their heads. The gesture alone represents
"Namaste" but we also say the word out loud. According to Yoga Journal, "The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a
Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture
is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another." Namaste
actually literally means, I bow to you, but I love the quote below from spiritual
leader, Ram Dass. It is a wonderful sentiment to keep in mind no matter where
life takes you.
