vitamin B12
I have been anemic off and on my entire life. I can tell immediately when I start feeling the symptoms of anemia coming on. I get tired easily, weak, and what I call "fuzzy" where I can't think clearly. Since becoming vegetarian (with the occasional seafood dish thrown in), I have felt these symptoms come on more frequently. I take iron supplements when I have to, but am not a fan of the side effects.
So, for the past month I have been exhausted, sleeping ten hours a night and still not having energy throughout the day. My mom mentioned to me that she had read an article about vitamin B12 and how necessary it is if you are vegetarian or vegan. She suggested I look into the vitamin, since I am probably not getting enough of it in my diet. I found out that being B12 deficient can also lead to anemia. So I had to give this vitamin a try. I started taking the supplement almost two weeks ago and have begun to see my energy come back. I really do believe I had a vitamin deficiency. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this might be something you want to look into.
